Muchmore drivers dominated the last round of this years BRCA touring car series at Halifax with Chris Grainger taking the win and the overall title. The championship arrived at Halifax with a number of drivers in with a shout of the title; favourite was current Five Cell Modified champion Chris Grainger and the Yokomo driver got off to a great start taking FTD just ahead of fellow Muchmore team mates Olly Jefferies and Ben Cosgrove. While the top three was looking very much like business as usual for the big names that was certainly not the case in the early stages of qualifying, early on it was Muchmore young drivers were stealing the headlines with some fantastic runs, Phil Chambers, Ali Graham Stu Noble were all posting top times and looking good on the fast Halifax track, Phil has been quick all year and he seemed to have his X-Ray well hooked up and was lying second in the early stages of qualifying. Stu Noble was destined to narrowly miss out on an A final place but Ali and Phil joined Olly, Ben, Chris and Elliott Harper and Andy Moore in the Five Cell Modified A final. In the Pro Stock class Tom Jefferies qualified 19th while Scottish visitor Gareth Hunt lined up 4th in the E final. Three leg finals with a national title at stake was always going be hard fought and keenly contested, all three of the modified A finals were enthralling to watch with close racing and places swapping on a lap by lap basis, at the end it was Chris Grainger that came out on top with two wins, Ben would finish second after he won leg two, a second and third was good enough to give Olly third overall. Ali Graham got his best score of the year with a well deserved fourth and Elliott Harper was next up in for Muchmore in sixth, Andy Moore had a difficult weekend but completed the top ten with his Hot Bodies Cyclone. Stu Noble made up a little for missing out on the A final by winning the B final and Tom Jefferies was third in the B in the Pro Stock and Gareth was fifth in the E final. In the championship the Halifax win was enough to secure Chris Grainger and Yokomo another domestic tile, Ben and Olly would end up second and third after a hard fought series, Andy Moore and Phil Chamber both made the top ten in sixth and seventh place. Over all it has been a strong showing by the Muchmore team and they will look to go from strength to strength as they prepare for the winter campaigns, before that there is the small matter of the KO Grand Prix which takes place this weekend, Olly is there to defend the modified KO title he won last year while Ben Chris and Elliott will do their very best to wrestle it off him…
