Scythe win at BTCC - Stafford Rd1 |

|
He came he saw he conquered TOP and Muchmore team driver Jimmy Maddison takes victory at round one of the BTCC touring car championship.
Brilliant weather graced the opening round of this year’s Schumacher BTCC and saw a full entry of 120 drivers. The stock and 19t classes were the busiest classes with 30 drivers booked in for the new 5cell mod rules.
The BTCC has always had a good reputation for a good friendly atmosphere together with an ultra competitive race meeting and Stafford continued that theme for 2007.
Jimmy Maddisons MHP powered SCYTHE was the class of the field setting the fastest laps in every round and was also the only driver to lap in sub 16 seconds , With a mistake in rnd 1 and 2 Jimmy left it until the final rnd to set TQ and place the TOP SCYTHE on pole for the double A main finals, In the first A main Jimmy pulled out a massive lead on the first lap which was only to be extended throughout the 5 min run, Jimmy was never pressed by the rest of the field. The 2nd Main was very much of the same, Jimmy was able to drive the car with confidence and lap very consistently stretching his lead to cross the line 1st. This was the SCYTHE ‘s first UK win at a major outdoor race, proving the winter results were just a taste of things to come, Well done jimmy on such a impressive result Jimmy would like to thank his sponsors for their continued support TOP Racing , Muchmore, SY brand, MHP, Parma , Speed passion , East coast bodys, Kawada, 3 Racing, M-race, and Novak |
