The Carpet Wars title is now looking good for Muchmore team driver Olly Jefferies after another dominating performance at round three of the six round championship. Olly took over at the top of the time sheets in round two of qualifying and held on to take FTD in front of fellow MuchMore team driver Chris Grainger, Chris really needed a good result at this round to prevent Olly running away with the series, his hopes now rested on a good final and Olly making an error. By the end of the first lap of the A final Olly held a comfortable lead as Chris tangled with 19 turn national champion Chris Kerswell into the first bend. Chris Grainger then got into a race long battle with Kevin Brunsden, Chris eventually finished third leaving himself an up hill struggle if he to take the Carpet Wars title this winter and prevent Olly running away in the title chase. This result is another to add to Olly’s impressive winter season so far, his record of taking FTD at every meeting he has contested since the last out door tarmac national is still intact, but he may have his work cut out at this weekends round of the Rug Racers series, as hoping to join Olly and Chris will be carpet expert and current world Champion Andy Moore........watch this space! |
