1-2-3 for Muchmore at Halifax Nationals. 

It was a great weekend for MuchMore team drivers at round 3 of the BRCA national touring car championship with Chris Grainger taking FTD and the overall win. 

Rain threatened to spoil the meeting as most of the weekend heavy clouds hung over the Yorkshire circuit, light drizzle did affect some of the practice runs and the circuit was damp for Sunday morning’s official practice. On Saturday it was the Hot Bodies duo of Andy Moore and Olly Jefferies that were setting the pace with Chris Grainger and Craig Drescher also setting some stunning lap times and it would be these four that would dominate this meeting. 

After the first run of qualifying it was a Hot Bodies 1-2 with Andy leading the way from Olly, round two stayed the same and it was down to the third round and new tyres. Chris stole FTD with Craig getting up to second displacing Olly to third, Andy lined up fourth. 

The first final and the top four blasted away leaving the chasing pack to fight over the lower places, Chris stayed calm under pressure to take the win from Craig and Olly. The second final saw Chris repeat the win with Craig second again, Olly and Andy had poor second finals but Olly did enough too secure his third podium of the season, Andy slipped down the order after being hit off the track in the dying seconds. 

Chris now looks in good shape to secure his third consecutive UK championship, next stop Snetterton in two weeks.
